Journalist, novelist & pulitzer prize nominee Playthell Benjamin calls Zon del Barrio a dangerously rhythmic group whose music can land you in the hospital if you’re not fit, as Benjamin recalls his experience @ the National PR Day Parade in a recent article. 

Titled  “Mambo Diablo,” Benjamin details how he spent his afternoon by the stage dancing to ZDB only to be taken to Lenox Hill Hospital right after the performance during the 90+ degree weather on N. Y’s Fifth Avenue that Sunday, June 8, 2008.

There is a free dance lessons from 10 p.m. – 11 p.m  and then there’s the bar, for those who don’t want to line up and learn how to dance.
